Peter Jones There are bands that play hard funk that moves you. There are bands that play jazz that rips. There are bands that meld a progressive rock wildness from their instruments. And here is Schantz Segment fusing all three. Rooted in jazz with constant influences of funk and prog rock, their sound is entrancing throughout. Brilliant.

I'd love to see the score for Libyan Desert Mirages, that one's mesmerising... Favorite track: Libyan Desert Mirages.

about

This is JAZZ/FUNK!!! 70's style big time.

…The Funk a la Schantz Segment is an instrumental party, a movement with razor blade precision...
Stefan Andreasen, Kalundborg Folkeblad

"Schantz and his large orchestra is not just bringing back the music from the 70's from an exile but adds something modernistic and avantgarde in a track such as "Libyan Desert Mirages". Return From Exile is second album from this band and by far the strongest. The album is funky and groovy. Sweaty and juicy"
Ivan Rod, Gaffa
