about

The debut of the trio! Recorded September 2010 in New York City.

Press quotes:

..Strikingly beautiful is the U2 ballad Love is Blindness in this subtle
version underlayed by some sophicated harmonies. Schantz and his
rhythm aces, Templeton and Ankarfeldt, master the art of
understatement moving effortlessly between the melodic passages
and the more dynamically highstrung parts…
Nordvest Nyt (Danish newspaper)

…Fabolous trio music! Whether it is his absense from doing any
solo works in recent years due to heavy duties with JazzKamikaze
that has helped Schantz into a more mature and defined playing it
is hard to say, but it is quite evident that this trio plays with a
extraordinaire responsiveness towards each other…
Jazz Special (Danish magazine)
… He plays with a sensitivity and awareness rarely heard…
Conveyance is an exciting album because it doesn’t have a blind
spot where pop and rock music is concerned… Schantz and his trio
don’t cut corners, either, and their sonic appreciation for various
genres comes in handy when expressing this larger vision...
Conveyance is a record of risk and, luckily, high reward…
Ihearsparks.com (US online review)

…A very successful debut that reveals that Schantz has a rich and
wide palette of colours to express himself with… All in all
“Conveyance” is a strong debut by some young musicians that to
great success blends a youthful spark with their roots and deeper
understanding of jazz tradition…
Jazzstjerner.dk (Danish online review)

…Morten Schantz is in good company in this trio where he adds
another meaningful, well-crafted, melodic and classic jazz trio
chapter to the story of Schantz. Love is Blindness is an absolute
highlight that works perfect in this enthusiastic version...
Niels Overgård, Jazznyt (Danish jazz blogger)

…Schantz works deliberately with interaction between jazz and
other genres. The ambition of making jazz both entertaining,
touching, surprising, and inspiring is clearly fulfilled with this
album…
Ivan Rod, Gaffa (Danish magazine and online)
